Therapy

Deciding to make the first step to come to therapy can be a difficult one. It is hard to admit we need help, and confiding in a stranger can at first seem uncomfortable and foreign. Our therapists at Quest understand this first step can be scary and work with clients to help them feel comfortable and accepted. Each of our therapists offers a warm and supportive environment and makes themselves available to answer any questions that arise.

Psychotherapy has been shown to have long-term benefits, and many of the treatments offered at Quest are empirically validated. This means that research supports different types of treatment for specific disorders. Among the research-based clinicians at Quest practice are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Overall, therapy often leads to a significant reduction in feelings of distress, increased satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, greater personal awareness and insight, increased skills for managing stress, and resolutions to specific problems. Psychotherapy does require a very active effort on the client’s part. In order to be most successful, clients are encouraged to incorporate into their daily lives, tools learned in session to see the greatest level of change.
